...My first inspiration to do comics was probably all the Image guys before there WAS an Image Comics. I remember being 100% devoted to Jim Lee, and getting into a quarrel or two over who the greatest artist in comics was, Jim Lee or Todd McFarlane, on occasion. By the way, I was also a Rob Liefeld nut, and I have absolutely no shame in admitting that. Liefeld's X-Force work had a metric ton of energy to it...stupid, anatomically incorrect energy, constant swiping, etc. Yet there was a rare energy to the whole thing.
Then came Dave Sim. His views on just about everything there is to have a view on contradict the views of just about everyone else in the comic book industry, and yet...He. Did. It. He set a monumental goal and he accomplished it without anything but his own hard work, drive, and the support of his fan base.
He did it.
So will I.
